ALEXANDRIA, Va. – On this week’s NACS Convenience Matters podcast, Ari Haseotes, the CEO of New England-based Cumberland Farms, shares how employees are vital to the company’s success.

Convenience Matters co-hosts Jeff Lenard and Carolyn Schnare of NACS talked with Haseotes on “A Conversation with Cumberland Farms.” Whether sending weekly updates on important company matters to every employee or personally reviewing employee feedback surveys, Haseotes highlights how important both downward and upward communication is at the company.

Haseotes also discussed the company’s recent dedication to Partnership for a Healthier America and Feeding America, two organizations NACS also works with. Cumberland Farms also was recently certified as a great workplace by the independent analysts at Great Place to Work.

“You don’t give a lot of high-fives for simply increasing sales—it’s when you hit those big goals as a team that you really feel everyone come together. This is something Haseotes does on a weekly basis that really makes his team stay strong and happy,” says Lenard.

Convenience Matters focuses on topics related to convenience stores. Episodes can be downloaded on iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher and at www.conveniencematters.com.
