WESTMINSTER, Md. - Baltimore Ravens fans were out in full force on July 9 to see their punter, Sam Koch, and Jiffy Mart raise funds for Carroll County Food Sunday. The player and the convenience store chain were at John Street Quarters from for two hours to tout Carroll County Food Sunday and its mission to help families in need within the county.

Carroll County Food Sunday provides milk vouchers for families. More than 60% of those vouchers are redeemed at Jiffy Mart locations. "The cost of a gallon of milk is around $4, Sam??s number is four, so we decided anyone coming in on that evening and sponsoring a milk voucher could then have an item signed by Sam," said Tom Moser, general manager of Jiffy Mart.

"People starting lining up at 4 pm, and turnout from the community was huge", said Dwayne Cover, business manager. More than 200 people stopped by during the event. Koch said, "It was amazing and felt great teaming up with Jiffy Mart and Tevis Oil to help that many people."

The Ravens Mascot Poe, Captain Dee Fense and the Baltimore Birdman also greeted attendees. As an added treat, Martins Chips, UTZ Chips and Canada Dry provided samples to those waiting in line, while WTTR did a live remote and gave everyone a chance to win with a spin of their prize wheel.

On behalf of the community, the Jiffy Mart Team presented to Carroll County Food Sunday $1,100 to help fund 275 milk vouchers.

On August 18, Jiffy Mart will participate in the First Annual Baltimore Summer Football Festival. Tickets for this event will be sold at each Jiffy Mart location. During the event, Jiffy Mart will sell Baltimore Ravens t-shirts and bobbleheads. A portion of the ticket sales and Jiffy Mart items sold during the event will again benefit Carroll County Food Sunday.
