Stripes Paves the Way for a Greener Industry

New south Texas truck parking area built with recycled materials, designed to control erosion.

CORPUS CHRISTIE, Texas – Stripes LLC is paving the way for the future of truck stops with its first installation of a new environmentally safe truck parking area in Refugio, Texas. Recently, Stripes replaced its over-the-road truck parking lot at the south Texas location with a new technology called TRUEGRID, a product made from post-consumer recycled polyolefin, which is environmentally safe and durable.

The new parking lot is a frontline solution to erosion control and storm water management, developed by Stripes in partnership with TRUEGRID and Refugio city officials. The new area is expected to serve the betterment of the community and to improve the experiences of Stripes customers.

The new truck parking area is environmentally safe and controls erosion,” stated Richard Sebastian, senior vice president of facilities for Susser Holdings Corporation, the parent company of Stripes LLC, in a press release.
