ST. LOUIS ?" Landshire Inc. has introduced a new sandwich product line, First Street Café, for convenience stores nationwide.

The First Street Café sandwiches are visually appealing, made with artisan baguettes and multi-grain fresh breads, premium sliced meats, salads and natural cheeses that are layered by hand and wrapped in a clear deli film for a "just made" look and taste.

Landshire developed the First Street Café line after researching the needs of the convenience store industry. Joseph Trover, owner and CEO, states: "Our customers have a need for a fresh sandwich that does not expire within 2-3 days. Our products have a similar look, feel and taste to the shorter shelf life products, but can maintain a seven day shelf life. These added days of freshness are vital to the success of a fresh sandwich program in the convenience store industry today."

The First Street Café Swiss Club and American Club are made using a multi-grain baguette topped with fresh oats to add visual appeal as well as texture and flavor. The British Club and Italian Club are made with a Baguette that is topped with shredded Asiago. Landshire flats, a variation on the traditional wedge sandwich, are made with rolled oat and multi-grain fresh breads. Each sandwich is filled with premium quality meats or salads and all natural Provolone, Monterey Jack or Cheddar cheeses. This combination of fine meats, salads and cheeses with upscale bakery style breads gives the customer the true look and taste of buying from a local café.

Founded in 1966, Landshire is increasing its market share and strengthening its presence in all 50 states. Landshire distributes its own quality products nationally through partnerships with nationwide foodservice suppliers and offers DSD in 22 states. The company will begin selling the First Street Café line nationally in August 2011.
