DES MOINES, Iowa – Among a bevy of laws that went into effect in Iowa this month is one that allows gas stations, convenience stores, grocers and liquor stores to fill beer growlers.

Retailers have already been preparing for this day, outfitting their stores with new growler-filling stations to sell increasingly popular craft beer. Some retailers, like Kum & Go, are still testing the idea elsewhere before retrofitting it Iowa stores with growler stations.

Brewers are equally excited about the new law, looking forward to the increased exposure for smaller, lesser-known brewers.
