MCLEAN, Va. – Beginning today, Wendy's is kicking off the
national rollout of its Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger, a $4.69 premium burger
served on a toasted pretzel bun. USA Today reports that in just a few weeks,
the burgers will be available coast to coast.
The newspaper adds that Wendy’s is counting on its pretzel
burger to be fast-food game changer, noting that no other QSR is selling
a burger on a pretzel bun.
“This is the most anticipated new product in recent history,”
Craig Bahner, Wendy's chief marketing officer, told the newspaper. The initial
rollout is a limited-time offer through the summer.
“This is the ultimate mash-up of three American loves:
pretzel, bacon and cheeseburger,” Bahner said.
