Starbucks to Offer Free Wi-Fi

Starting July 1, every company-operated U.S. location will give customers access to free Wi-Fi.

SEATTLE - Beginning next month, customers at company-operated Starbucks will enjoy free, unlimited Wi-Fi access. Starbucks currently charges for Wi-Fi access, limiting time spent online to two hours.

"Just visit your neighborhood Starbucks, open your browser or mobile device and click to connect. It??s our way of providing you with a great digital experience to go with your cup of coffee," the company said in a press release.

Later this fall, Starbucks will launch its Starbucks Digital Network, which was created in partnership with Yahoo! The Starbucks Digital Network will offer free access to exclusive content, community news and local volunteer opportunities on your laptop, tablet or smart phone. This content will only be available in its stores.

"We??ve teamed up with Yahoo! and a growing list of premium content partners, including the Wall Street Journal, Apple and Zagat, to enrich your coffeehouse experience with interesting news and entertainment cultivated for you," the company said.
