ALEXANDRIA, Va. – While it may sound cliché, members of Congress really do want to hear from their constituents. NACS, like many leading associations, makes it easy for its members to come to Washington, learn the process and have productive meetings with their elected officials.

The latest NACS Convenience Matters podcast looks at how NACS members can get engaged in process and shares tips from those who have had success.

Program co-hosts Jeff Lenard, NACS vice president of strategic industry initiatives, and John Eichberger, executive director of the Fuels Institute, talked to attendees at the 2016 NACS Government Relations Conference for the podcast, “Advocacy Made Easy.” The program can be downloaded on iTunes by searching for Convenience Matters. It also is available at nacsonline.com/podcasts.

The hosts share clips from interviews conducted at NACS Day on the Hill to learn the importance of advocacy, and how others can get involved.

“Whether you’re a first-timer on Capitol Hill meeting with your members of Congress or a regular, the process works,” Lenard said. “We get tips and advice from a variety of attendees, and provide context for how others can get engaged.”

A new Convenience Matters podcast will be released every week, focusing on topics related to convenience stores.
