HANOI – Vietnam’s first 7-Eleven convenience store will open at the Saigon Trade Center in Ho Chi Minh City on June 15, according to Seven System Vietnam Joint Stock Company, the exclusive franchisor of 7-Eleven convenience stores in the country.
Japan News writes that 7-Eleven’s entry into Vietnam is “expected to intensify” convenience store competition among retailers like FamilyMart Co. and Ministop Co., which already operate stores in the country.
In 2015, Seven & i Holdings Co. announced plans to launch 7-Eleven stores in Vietnam.
