ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The idea sounds crazy to other retail channels: Go to a store, possibly disrupt operations to film and share your best ideas, then reveal those ideas to your peers at the NACS Show. In short, that’s the concept behind the annual NACS Ideas 2 Go video program.

Most convenience retailers NACS reaches out to happily agree to be profiled in the video program because they are committed to making c-stores a destination for all consumers. The latest Convenience Matters podcast discusses the concept of video at convenience stores, and the interesting segments NACS has filmed over the years.

Gino Bruno, videographer and founder of Allegro Video, is the featured guest in the podcast “Seeing Is Believing.” Bruno has served as videographer for NACS Ideas 2 Go since the 1990s. The program is co-hosted by Jeff Lenard, NACS vice president of strategic industry initiatives; and Carolyn Schnare, NACS director of strategic initiatives.

The program can be downloaded on iTunes by searching for “Convenience Matters.” It also is available at nacsonline.com/podcasts.

“NACS has shared retailer ideas on video for decades. We wanted to share what retailers can learn from these videos and share some tips from a professional on how they can make better videos on their own,” Lenard said.

A new “Convenience Matters” podcast is released every week, focusing on topics related to convenience stores.
