Invest in Employee Excellence

Deadline approaching for NACS Scholarship Program, allowing retailers to invest in promising employees.

May 29, 2015

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Launched in 1998, in Memory of Jim Yates and David Erickson, the NACS Scholarship Program has since awarded nearly $400,000 to ambitious convenience store employees. The June 8 deadline to submit an application for this year’s NACS Scholarship Program is fast approaching.

In just over a week, nearly a dozen industry employees who demonstrate the potential for future growth as a leader and industry innovator could receive a scholarship in the amount of $3,000. Awarded annually, the scholarship helps to cover part of the costs of undergraduate career education (community college or university) for the selected applicants.

To be considered for the award, applicants must be employees of a NACS retail member company and also enrolled in undergraduate academic study for the fall of 2015. NACS retail member companies may nominate multiple employees for a scholarship and scholarship recipients may re-apply each year, for up to four years if they continue to meet the eligibility requirements. Recipients are also given the opportunity to attend the NACS Show, where selected winners will be recognized at a special ceremony and have a first-hand opportunity to learn more about the exciting career paths in the industry. See how the scholarships have helped past winners achieve their professional and personal dreams, in this video.

Submit Your Application Today! To apply, download the NACS Scholarship Program application form, and complete all parts. All award winners will be notified by the end of June. For more information about the program and to submit your application, email Jenn Smith at jsmith@nacsonline.com or call (703) 518-4295.
