ALEXANDRIA, VA – Each year the NACS Scholarship Program provides
ambitious convenience store employees an opportunity to grow their careers and
become industry leaders.
Established in 1999 in memory of Jim Yates, founder of E-Z Mart Stores
Inc. and 1992-1993 NACS chairman, and David Erickson, former CEO of Erickson
Oil Products Inc., the scholarship awards selected applicants $3,000 for costs
of undergraduate career education (community college or university).
To be considered for the award, applicants must be employees of a NACS
retail member company and also enrolled in undergraduate academic study.
Recipients may re-apply each year, for up to four years if they continue to
meet the eligibility requirements. In addition, the scholarship also provides
travel, attendance and lodging at the NACS Show where the winners will be
recognized at a special ceremony.
