Family Express Optimizes Inventory Management With Retalix

DALLAS - Family Express of Valparaiso, Ind. announced yesterday that it recently improved its inventory management operations by deploying Retalix Ltd.??s Demand-Driven Replenishment solution across its northwestern Indiana convenience stores.

The demand forecasting and inventory replenishment system allowed Family Express to reduce its tobacco order size by 21%, while increasing its average monthly inventory turnover per store by 2.5 turns and decreasing its average inventory days on hand for tobacco products by 2.4 days.

The software solution has also provided Family Express with the option to automatically reorder a "significant percentage of all items in its stores," which has cut down on inventory management labor while reducing its out-of-stock rate.
