General Mills Introduces Wheaties Fuel Energy Bars, Chex Mix Muddy Buddies

The company developed the energy bars specifically for convenience stores.

MINNEPOLIS - General Mills has introduced Wheaties Fuel energy bars, now available to convenience store retailers. Available in Chocolate Peanut Butter and Double Chocolate, each 2.26-ounce bar delivers 15 grams protein and 100 percent of the daily value of five B vitamins.

Wheaties FUEL energy bars were developed specifically for convenience stores and co-created with five of today??s elite athletes including baseball champion and three-time MVP Albert Pujols, football champion and four-time MVP Peyton Manning, basketball champion and MVP Kevin Garnett, decathlon champion Bryan Clay, triathlon champion Hunter Kemper, and leading sports nutritionist Dr. John Ivy, professor of kinesiology exercise physiology and health education.

"Breakfast equities in the bar category are delivering strong growth," said Maria Chapellin, associate marketing manager for General Mills Convenient Solutions, in a press release. "We are thrilled to introduce an energy bar that leverages the iconic Breakfast of Champions brand to deliver big wins for both consumers and convenience store retailers."

General Mills also debuted its Chex Mix Muddy Buddies, which were inspired by a popular homemade recipe. Chex Mix Muddy Buddies is a rich combination of chocolate and peanut butter Corn Chex? cereal pieces tossed in a sweet powdery coating.

"We??re thrilled to introduce Chex Mix Muddy Buddies, a recipe-favorite flavor that will bring consumer excitement to the snack aisle to help convenience store retailers capture a greater portion of away-from-home sales," said Trevor Winn, associate marketing manager for General Mills Convenient Solutions, in a press release.
