MADISON, WI – Just in time for grilling season, Oscar Mayer announced yesterday the launch of several new hot dog innovations.

Beginning next month, consumers will be able to sink their teeth into the Bacon Dog, the first bacon hot dog on the market, which is made with hardwood-smoked Oscar Mayer bacon.

"No one knows bacon like Oscar Mayer," said Jared Baker, director of Oscar Mayer hot dogs. "We know Americans love bacon, and we know they love hot dogs, so it seemed like the perfect time for us to introduce our first hot dog made with bacon."

Oscar Mayer is resurrecting an earlier Smokies product, with new Oscar Mayer Smokies Smoked Sausages that will be available in 14-ounce, eight-count packs. The links are made with coarse ground pork and beef, and smoked with hardwood.

Additionally, the company is expanding its line of Selects hot dogs with its new Chicken Breast Hot Dog, a gluten-free sausage made with high quality chicken breast meat.
