AUSTIN – Texas-based Buc-ee’s is currently building what it hopes to be the longest car wash in the world, which would also earn the retailer a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records.

KHOU.com reports that Buc-ee’s is planning to open the car wash this fall adjacent to a 56,000-square-foot store in Katy, Texas. The car wash will span 255 feet and the store will have about 120 gas pumps.

Buc-ee’s confirmed to the news source that it has been in touch with the Guinness Book of World Records regarding the new car wash.

"When we started looking at how long it really is, we said, 'You know, it may be the very longest one in the world,' and if that is the case, and we’ve proven as such, that would be kind of neat," said Buc-ee's general counsel Jeff Nadalo.
