CHICAGO – The Chicago Tribune reports that McDonald’s is testing a McCafe kiosk at two Chicago locations, giving customers the option to purchase a hot beverage without waiting in line.

The news source writes that the kiosk features a touchscreen for customers to select lattes, mochas, cappuccinos or coffee and customize their drink with flavor shots, milk and the amount of espresso. Only card payments are accepted; specialty hot drinks cost $2.99 and are only available in a 16-ounce size.

The kiosks are located at McDonald's restaurants in the Merchandise Mart and at the corner of Adams and Wells streets, according to spokeswoman Lisa McComb.

While there are no immediate plans to offer the kiosk in other U.S. locations, the news source notes that McDonald's plans to roll out the coffee kiosks at all its stand-alone McCafe locations in Canada.
