MINNEAPOLIS, MN - Caribou Coffee, the country??s second largest dedicated coffeehouse chain, announced earlier this week a beverage line with 40 percent fewer calories than its traditional drinks.

Caribou??s new Northern Lite beverages include mochas, lattes, tea lattes and blended drinks and are available at all Caribou Coffee locations nationwide.

The new lineup includes a lite mocha, made with real, premium milk, dark or white chocolate, and non-fat whip. All of the chain??s chocolate-based beverages continue to be made using all-natural chocolate.

"Northern Lite beverages are the perfect way to enjoy a little indulgence," said Alfredo Martel, senior vice president of marketing and product management for Caribou Coffee. "The new Northern Lite mocha is a chocolate lover's dream come true. With 40 percent fewer calories, but still made with real chocolate, it's hard to even taste the difference."

As part of the new product line launch, Caribou is offering a "love it lite or we??ll remake it" guarantee.

"We're so excited to be able to offer our specialty beverages with fewer calories," said Martel. "Now guests can love it lite while still enjoying 100 percent of the taste Caribou's premium beverages have always offered."

Additionally, every Monday through May 30, Caribou??s Happy Monday promotion offers any medium Northern Lite beverage for $3 and a breakfast sandwich for $2.
