Oops! JPMorgan Chase Glitch Triggers Duplicative Charges

Customers in the New York area may have been charged twice for transactions from some debit accounts; the bank is working to refund double-charged customers.

NEW YORK - A technology glitch at JP Morgan Chase earlier this week resulted in duplicative charges from some debit accounts in the New York area, Fox Business reports.

The financial services giant said it is aware of the problem and is working to refund fees to customers, though it did not disclose how many customers were affected by the dual charges nor what caused the glitch.

"Some debit card transactions in the New York tri-state area posted twice. We are working to reverse that and we will reimburse any resulting fees," said a JPMorgan spokesperson.

JPMorgan said the mistake had "nothing to do with" last week's security breach at Global Payments.
