HOUSTON – In celebration of Teen Tech Week, CITGO Petroleum Corporation and the Houston Public Library recently hosted their second annual Teen Tech Fair at the Henington-Alief Regional Library.

“The Teen Tech Fair is a great opportunity for teens to gain hands-on experience with innovative and interactive technology,” said Jennifer Schwartz, programming manager with the Houston Public Library. “With CITGO’s help, we have been able to make learning fun for students while empowering them to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.”

The Teen Tech Fair offers interactive activities including 3D printing classes, gastronomy experiments with Pop Shop Houston, the Houston Museum of Natural Science’s Imagination Station, wireless robots and gaming stations.

“Education is of the utmost importance to CITGO because we realize how critical it is to the future of the American workforce,” said Nelson P. Martinez, CITGO president and CEO. “Supporting the Teen Tech Fair expands on our continuous commitment to educational initiatives, particularly in STEM, as it provides a valuable service to teens by demonstrating all the exciting career options an education in technology-related fields can bring, including options in the refining industry.”
