TULSA, Okla. – PaymentsWeek.com reports that Tulsa, Oklahoma-based QuikTrip customers are signing up for a new private-label credit card issued by First National Bank of Omaha and First Data.

Customers will only be able to use the private-label card at QuikTrip locations, and the card will be tied to the retailer’s loyalty program. First Data will administer the loyalty program and keep track of the loyalty points earned by user purchases, send out billing statements and emboss the cards.

Omaha.com writes that First National Bank will begin issuing the private-label credit cards to QuikTrip customers in June. QuikTrip spokesman Mike Thornbrugh said the goal for the private-label card is to keep customers coming back, offering them discounts on gas when they pay for fuel purchases with the new card, and they’ll receive store gift cards when they hit spending thresholds.

“Gasoline is the most emotional commodity in the world,” Thornbrugh said. “When the opportunity is there to save customers money on their transactions, they love it.”
