SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppe would like more underserved areas to have access to groceries, the Post-Standard reports. The chain held its annual corporate trade show last week.

The show brought together leaders and employees of the chain to sample new products and to exchange ideas. Nice N Easy??s model allows franchisees and store managers to stock their locations with products that best serve their communities, instead of a generic boilerplate approach.

The 80-unit chain has its eye on expanding with a new prototype of convenience store. "It would have more groceries, to fill the void left in towns that lost their Big M??s and other smaller supermarkets," said Matthew Paduana, a vice president with Nice N Easy. "We have to figure out how to go to that next level."
