ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Another supermarket is dabbling in online ordering with at-store pick up. Giant Eagle Market District in Robinson Township, Pa., will be testing a pilot of Curbside Express, KDKA-TV reports. "I think it would be a very convenient service and save you a lot of time in the store," said customer Dave Poluszejko.

To use Curbside Express, shoppers order online and a personal shopper gathers, bags and loads the item into their car upon arrival at the store. The service also has a place for notes, such as adding your preference for green bananas.

"I think it would be a wonderful service to offer, especially nowadays. There are many people online and especially new mothers could really take advantage of that. It would be a wonderful service. They wouldn??t have to get out of their car with their newborns," said customer Melissa Westling.

Giant Eagle will have the service in place by April 9. The first order will be free, but a charge of $5 will be assessed for subsequent orders. The supermarket will likely consider expanding the program if the test run goes well.
