CINCINNATI, Ohio – Angry Orchard makes a variety of year-round cider styles, including Angry Orchard Green Apple, which is now available in 16-oz. cans.

Angry Orchard Green Apple is a naturally gluten-free hard cider product, also available in 6-packs and in variety 12-packs with three other Angry Orchard styles. The cider makers at Angry Orchard Cider Company have been experimenting with apple varieties and unique flavors to develop hard cider recipes for 20 years. The brewers found that by using Washington State apples, they are able to develop the flavor profile they were looking for in Angry Orchard Green Apple.

Cider began hitting convenience store shelves several years ago, and in some cases, it is replacing slow-moving beers. By many accounts, cider began to take off in convenience stores when Boston Beer Co. began national distribution of Angry Orchard in mid-2012, writes NACS Magazine in “Biting the Big Apple.”

According to IRI, c-stores sold close to $120 million in cider products in 2014, an increase of more than 120% over last year 2013 with the strongest region being the northeastern states (more than $30 million in sales) from Virginia to Maine. In 2013, cider sales increased 89% to $280 million across all off-premise retail channels.
