CHICAGO - Celebrity chef and Rick Bayless is teaming with Corona importer Crown Imports to develop a new craft beer that will launch in stores next year, the Chicago Business Journal reports.

The "Mexico One Plate at a Time" PBS host, former "Top Chef" judge, James Beard Award winner and owner of Frontera-brand salsas, grilling sauces and chips is still developing the as-yet-unnamed brew, which will be distributed regionally by Crown.

As part of the partnership, Crown will sponsor Bayless?? PBS show, while the beer will be featured in store promotions alongside Bayless?? Frontera-brand products.

"We are going to use Rick and all his expertise with Latin flavors and Mexican flavors and spice. He's very into beer," said Crown Chief Marketing Officer Jim Sabia. "We will have our own brewers, but he is going to be actively involved in the recipe and style. He's going to be our master brewer."

This is not the first beer-go-round for Bayless, who previously developed a Marisol beer for Chicago-based Goose Island Beer Co.
