SALT LAKE CITY – Through generous donations from its customers, vendors and employees, Speedway LLC (Speedway) contributed $7.6 million to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in 2013, boosting the company’s total fundraising to more than $60 million since 1991. Donations in 2013 were up 18% over the previous year and benefitted 20 member children’s hospitals in nine states.

“It is quite an honor to be part of a company that supports such a great organization,” commented Speedway President Tony Kenney. “We raise the money we do for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals because we have very dedicated employees, and very generous customers and vendor partners that truly care about making a difference in the lives of others. It’s also very rewarding to know that, as Speedway grows, so does our ability to support CMN Hospitals.”

In 2013, Speedway expanded into Tennessee and Pennsylvania, providing the opportunity to support three additional CMN Hospitals: Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, East Tennessee Children’s Hospital and Children's Hospital at Erlanger. Speedway now has approximately 1,480 stores participating in Children's Miracle Network Hospitals fundraising.

“Speedway continues to impress us with their dedication to excellent medical care for kids in their communities” said John Lauck, president and CEO, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. “Because of their generous support over the last 23 years, our member hospitals have been able to provide hope and healing for countless children. We congratulate Speedway on their expansion and another great fundraising year, and wish them continued success in 2014.”

A corporate partner of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals since 1991, Speedway has raised more than $60 million for the charity through a variety of initiatives. Programs including canister and icon campaigns, bowl-a-thons, employee payroll deduction programs and an annual corporate golf tournament contribute to Speedway’s ability to support the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in their communities.
