ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. - The founders of BJ??s Restaurants Inc. are planning to launch a new fast-casual concept that combines technology with menu customization. It??s not touchscreen ordering we??re talking about here, but ordering with an iPad.

The OC Register reports that Stacked is a "pioneering concept" that will use the iPad for tableside meal ordering.

"Stacked defies existing categories and will elevate fast casual dining to a new experience that we are calling 'fast casual plus,'" said BJ??s co-founder Paul Motenko.

Meanwhile, Motenko told Nation??s Restaurant News that it??s "all about the food and experience for the guest," adding that the iPad technology will help facilitate that experience and offer "terrific value."

"So many people are so much more sophisticated. They want it the way they want it," he told the news source, adding, "Stacked is somewhat a reflection of that trend."
