LONDON - Seeking to ignite its pizza delivery base in the U.K. and Ireland, Domino's Pizza has added a gas station operator to its roster of franchisees, the Financial Times reports.

The pizza chain signed on with Moto Hospitality, Britain's largest operator of highway rest stops, to open two Domino's franchises, with the promise of rolling out restaurants at the majority of the company's 50 other sites by 2020.

Domino's CEO Chris Moore said the "non-traditional location" partnership comes as the pizza company seeks to build on strong growth last year, during which it realized 12 percent like-for-like sales growth.

Domino's also said longer opening hours and new products would headline a strategy of sales growth.
