PHILADELPHIA - McDonald??s USA announced earlier this week the rollout of Fish McBites, the restaurant??s new "poppable" Alaska Pollock pieces, to Philadelphia region restaurants.

Available through March 2013, Fish McBites are available in Snack (3 ounces), Regular (5 ounces) and Shareable (10 ounces) sizes as well as an option in its Happy Meal. Through today, participating Philly restaurants will offer Snack size Fish McBites for $1.

"We're excited to bring Fish McBites to our customers in the Philadelphia region," said John Durante, president of McDonald's Owner/Operator Association of the Greater Philadelphia Region. "We know how much our customers love Filet-O-Fish and wanted to offer them a fun, new way to enjoy the delicious, quality fish we serve at McDonald's."

McDonald??s said the addition of Fish McBites to its Happy Meal reflects a growing demand for seafood.

"With the new Fish McBites Happy Meal, we want to help introduce fish to the pallets of our youngest guests and offer parents an option they can feel good about serving their kids," said Dan Coudreaut, senior director of culinary innovation at McDonald's.
