Making Our Voices Heard

The NACS Government Relations Conference educates legislators so they can make decisions that help—not hurt—the convenience industry’s bottom line.

February 08, 2016

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The NACS Government Relations Conference gives the convenience and fuel retailing industry the opportunity to become part of the policymaking discussion. Attendees are given the chance to meet with members of Congress and tell them how the legislation they vote on affects their day-to-day business, their customers and employees.

While there are good things that come out of Washington, there is also plenty of legislation and costly regulations that can hurt every aspect of a convenience store business. Hot topics for our industry include menu labeling, online gaming, payment security and fuels, and it’s our industry’s responsibility to educate as many members of Congress as possible on these industry challenges.

NACS makes it easy for you to talk about your business with members of Congress and their staffs by scheduling all of your meetings, providing detailed updates and materials on issues affecting our industry, and assigning you to a team of other industry professionals as well as a lobbyist or seasoned retailer. You’ll feel comfortable so that you can talk about what you know best: your business.

This event brings you face to face with lawmakers and gives you the opportunity to share how policies will directly affect your business and the industry. There is no one better to talk about your business than you.

If you’ve never participated in this NACS event, take a look at what you’ve been missing
