FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Cumberland Farms has announced that its SmartPay Check-Link payment program has saved customers $20 million on gas since its launch in January 2013. Available as both a card and a mobile payment app, the SmartPay Check-Link program has also experienced significant user growth with a 30% increase in enrollments over the last six months. Free to enroll, SmartPay Check-Link users automatically save 10 cents on every gallon of gas at Cumberland Farms' gas retail locations in the Northeast and Florida.

"We are extremely pleased with the performance of our SmartPay program and that total savings on gas for our customers has jumped from $10 million to $20 million in just eight months," said Ari Haseotes, CEO of Cumberland Farms. "We look forward to the continued expansion of this convenient and budget-friendly way for our loyal customers to save at the pump."

SmartPay Check-Link lets customers pay for gas at the pump and save 10-cents immediately. Following the transaction, users are automatically e-mailed a receipt and notified of how much money they saved on that transaction by using SmartPay. In addition, mobile app users are notified of their lifetime savings with the program via the app. As an added convenience, SmartPay may also be used for in-store purchases.

To celebrate the milestone, Cumberland Farms launched a promotion on the brand's Facebook page from January 23-25. To enter, customers calculated their projected 2015 coffee savings using Cumberland Farms' Coffee Savings Calculator, and posted their projected annual savings as a comment on the $20 million saved announcement post. Twenty lucky winners will receive a $20 gift card to their local Cumberland Farms.
