New McChoco Potato goes for the sweet and salty flavor profile.

January 20, 2016

OAK BROOK, Ill. – McDonald's Japan announced the latest fry innovation to hit the menu: the McChoco Potato.

Japanese customers can choose a combination of French fries chocolate-drizzled with cacao flavor and white milk chocolate. “The combination creates a wonderful salty and sweet harmonious taste,” notes the company’s website.

McDonald’s Japan isn’t shy about introducing new twists on French fries, having previously offered the Shaka Shaka Potato fries topped with cheese sauce or bacon.

The McChoco Potato is available at participating McDonald’s restaurants across Japan starting January 26.
