Circle K Planning Major Expansion in Middle East

More than half of planned locations will be in United Arab Emirates, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

DUBAI, UAE – Circle K has recently announced plans to open 55 new branches across the Middle East in the coming year, part of the company's plan to expand its foothold and offer enhanced services to its growing customer-base in the region, according to a statement by the company.

Twenty-eight new outlets are planned for the United Arab Emirates, with locations in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and nearby emirates. These new locations will bring the total number of Circle K outlets in UAE to 66.

According to news reports, Circle K's senior executives remains upbeat about prospects for 2015 and 2016, with a growth phase that will see the business growing twice as large over the period. "We are looking towards 2015 with high spirits and an upbeat attitude that gives us the confidence to plan the opening of 55 more branches across the whole region,” said Fahmi Al Shawa, CEO of Circle K Arabia. "These new outlets are expected to address the demand for convenience stores that can help cater to the needs of consumers in the emirate."
