ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The NACS State of the Industry Report® is one of the best strategic benchmarking tools in our channel, but your input is needed to maximize the value of this comprehensive publication. By participating in the data collection for the annual report, NACS retail members provide vital data that the association uses to analyze trends and provide strategic insights into the opportunities and ‘watch-outs’ for our industry.

In exchange for providing your company’s anonymous data for the newest report, you will automatically receive a hard copy of the final report once it’s published this summer (a $249 value for NACS members; a $749 value for non-members), along with a free downloadable copy of the NACS Fact Book—a compilation of historical industry statistics (list price $99). Now in its 47th year, the NACS State of the Industry Report® contains a detailed industry overview, an examination of store operations, a report on the channel’s financial performance and a detailed breakdown of the top performing categories in our business: merchandise, foodservice and motor fuels.

Participants also get an invitation to attend the exclusive preview of the report’s findings, well before the data is published, at the 2017 NACS State of the Industry Summit—the industry’s premier data analysis and networking event. Each participating company has the option to send up to three individuals to the annual benchmarking conference, which will be held April 4-6 in Chicago (a $999 value). The data-powered event brings together top-ranked business professors, industry experts and retailers to help break down the newest consumer, financial and operational numbers—live from the stage. Last year’s event drew more than 500 attendees, including nearly 260 CEOs, VPs, directors, managers and analysts from 117 retail companies. Many NACS members have already registered (take a look at the growing list of retailers here).

To confirm your participation—and take advantage of the free report and attendance to the NACS State of the Industry Summit—simply visit SOIsurvey.com to download the Excel document, then fill it out and return it by March 11, 2017. All data submitted is treated confidentially and will only be used for analyses with data from other submitting firms.
