SAN ANTONIO – Texas grocery H-E-B is expanding its foray into the convenience store market by opening a new, $3-million site in San Antonio.

“H-E-B is no stranger to the convenience-store concept. But as far as expanding its footprint in San Antonio, the retailer has mostly stuck to the traditional grocery store model, until now,” writes the San Antonio Business Journal.

In January 2016, the grocer announced plans for its $2.7 million, 7,416-square foot convenience store near its Plus! location.

The news source notes that construction on the new c-store will begin this April and wrap up by October 2017.
