ALEXANDRIA, Va.—Newsweek surveyed more than 4,000 people who are members of U.S. loyalty programs and asked them several questions including which programs offered worthwhile rewards, which they were most satisfied with and which they would recommend to friends and family.

Newsweek then applied an algorithm to the results, creating scores that ranged from a high of 9.56 for Crumbl Loyalty, the loyalty program of Crumbl Cookies, to a low of 5.91 for Royal Perks, which is Burger King’s loyalty program.

C-stores racked up positive results, and the number of c-stores on the list confirms that many of America’s most used loyalty programs are from convenience retailers.

Here are the top-performing c-stores:

  • 9.14, U-Drive Plus, United Dairy Farmers
  • 9.13, GoMart Rewards, GoMart
  • 8.81, MyRewards Plus, Pilot Flying J
  • 8.64, MY Reward$, MAPCO
  • 8.64, Wawa Rewards, Wawa
  • 8.53, Casey’s Rewards, Casey’s
  • 8.20, Rutter’s Rewards, Rutter’s
  • 8.16, Adventure Club, Maverik

“At GoMart, we know what it takes to build loyalty. We’ve been doing it for more than 100 years,” said Ian Stewart, marketing director. “Our commitment to customers gives our loyalty program an edge over the national brands, and by partnering with the right technology solutions, we’ve been able to grow it significantly through the GoMart app. The results speak for themselves.”

Both United Dairy Farmers and GoMart use Rovertown as their app platform. “This is a big moment that speaks to the evolution of convenience retailing,” said Jeffry Harrison, president and co-founder of Rovertown. “From exciting offers down to each graphic in an app, a great rewards program shows customers that a brand cares—and convenience retailers are putting in the work to build programs their customers can genuinely enjoy.”
